Machinations of the mind

Oh it’s late at night

And I can’t get to sleep

And even though you won’t pick up The phone

on and on you go

I’ve tried everything even counting sheep

Here comes that sun

So you’ll tell me what you think

and man I’m so tired

I can barely catch a wink

Do I hear you knocking
 Knocking at my door

Is it me you’ve been searching for

Ain’t it funny how we don’t talk anymore

It’s six in the morning
 Man your brain is fried

Keep taking your tablets
They will keep you nullified

You can’t conjure up the things
 That you see

But don’t worry about me

I see your machinations

And now can breathe.

Do I hear your knocking
 Knocking at my door

Is it me you’ve been searching for

Ain’t it funny how we don’t talk anymore
