This town Tale

This towns tale

This town remembers

When it was young
Fields stretching out
Long before this story had begun
Before these words had rolled
Off my tongue

I dreamt of a better time
I dreamt of a better place
But I’m so thankful I found you

People came
Turning over the earth
Building testament
To their own egos and worth
And Now their gods turn their backs
And walk away
All I see right now are the towers
They built today

I dreamt of a better time
I dreamt of a better place
But I’m so thankful I found you

And wars came and took these men away
Fighting for faith and the freedom of the King
All these fields now lay
Soaked in their memories
And poppies now grow, beneath the trees

I dreamt of a better time
I dreamt of a better place
But I’m so thankful I found you
